The auction sheet

We read the Japanese
auction sheet for you

Every car at a Japanese auction is graded by an independent inspector — on a sheet written in Japanese shorthand most buyers can’t read. We translate every grade, damage code and handwritten note into plain English, so you see the true condition before you commit. Nothing summarized away.

  • Overall, exterior & interior grades — explained
  • Every damage code mapped to where it is on the car
  • The inspector’s handwritten note, translated in full

FAQ

Common questions

Typically 6–8 weeks from the moment we win at auction to the car arriving at your door. This covers auction-to-port preparation (1–2 weeks), ocean freight (3–4 weeks), US customs clearance and port release (1 week), and final delivery to your location.
Yes. Any vehicle 25 or more years old is exempt from EPA and DOT compliance requirements under the "Show or Display" exemption — meaning it can be imported for personal use with no modifications required. This is federal law, not a loophole.
All payments go through Escrow.com, a regulated and FDIC-insured third-party escrow service used for high-value vehicle transactions globally. Your funds are held in escrow and only released when you approve the delivery. We never hold or touch your money.
If the car arrives and doesn't match the Japanese inspection report or the video walkthrough you approved, the escrow is released back to you in full. The exporter takes the car back. This protection is built into every transaction by default.
The 25% tariff applies to new vehicles and vehicles under 25 years old. Cars 25+ years old — which are the only cars we import — are classified as collector/antique vehicles and pay approximately 2.5–3% import duty, not 25%. This is one of the key financial advantages of the 25-year rule.
Yes. State registration requirements vary, but in most states a JDM import with a Japanese title and customs documentation can be titled and registered without difficulty. We'll guide you through the documentation process for your state.
